Canada Outlines Super Visa Requirements for Applicants

The Government of Canada has published a comprehensive list of requirements for individuals applying for a Canadian super visa, which is intended for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or registered Indians. Both the applicant and the host must meet specific conditions for the application to be approved.

The host, who must be the biological or adopted child or grandchild of the applicant, is required to be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered Indian, at least 18 years old, residing in Canada, and must meet the minimum income level set by the government. The applicant must be outside Canada when submitting the application, have the visa printed by a visa office outside Canada, be admissible to enter Canada, provide proof of private health insurance valid for at least one year, take an immigration exam, and meet additional conditions as determined during the application process.

Canadian immigration authorities will also consider factors such as the applicant's intent to leave Canada after their stay and their ties to their home country.
