INEC to Upload Only Winners from Monitored Primaries

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will upload only the names of candidates who emerge from monitored primaries. Mohammed Kudu Haruna, a National Commissioner, informed that the commission has already uploaded names of winners from the concluded primaries.
A total of 21 political parties have been granted access codes to enable them to upload their candidates' names. However, political parties cannot upload names that do not match the results already submitted to INEC.
The APC has recently adjusted its candidate list, replacing former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam and ex-House of Representatives member Gbenga Elegbeleye among others, following the primary appeal process. The adjustments affect constituencies in Kogi, Abia, Benue, Taraba, Ondo, Niger, Kwara, Kaduna, and Ebonyi states.
The changes were communicated in a joint letter signed by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda and Senate Ajibola Basiru.
