Catholic Golfers Host Charity Tournament for Mental Health

Catholic golfers gathered at Ikeja Golf Club for a special charity golf tournament themed "Swing Serv Love," aimed at raising funds to support mental health well-being. The event was organized to benefit the St. Kizito Well Project, which focuses on strengthening the mental health support system for clergy and religious personnel.

Mr. Fatumata Coker, chairman of the organizing committee, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting its design to combine sportsmanship with a spirit of service and solidarity. Rev. Fr. Michael Olofinlad, champion of the charity initiative, emphasized that the event transcended golf, aiming to promote robust mental health support for clergy.

The tournament utilized a Texas scramble format with a shotgun start, designed to create an engaging and inclusive experience for golfers of varying skill levels. Mr. Candi Agu, chairman of the competition committee, explained the tournament's structure, which aimed to ensure access to proper care and support systems for clergy facing emotional and psychological demands.
