CCDI Hosts Policy Dialogue on Zamfara's Economic Future

The Center for Community Development Initiatives (CCDI) will lead an international policy dialogue titled "Unlocking Economic Potential in Zamfara State: Pathways to Sustainable Development and Investment Security" on April 15, 2026, in Washington D.C. This session coincides with the World Bank and IMF board governors meeting.

Mr. Olufemi Aduwo, the permanent representative of CCDI to the United Nations, will represent the organization.

The session aims to shift the prevailing narrative about northern Nigeria, particularly Zamfara State, which is often overshadowed by discussions of insurgency and insecurity. The dialogue will highlight the significant investment opportunities in Zamfara's solid mineral sector and the need for sound governance and international partnerships.

Keynote speaker Ajai Banga, President of the World Bank, and session chair Ms. Gina Raimondo, former U.S.

Secretary of Commerce, will lead discussions moderated by Professor Jodi Sandfort from the University of Washington. The event anticipates strong participation from policymakers, development practitioners, investors, and civil society leaders.
