Zamfara Governor Attends Resilience Workshop in UK

Governor Lawal Sundai of Zamfara State is scheduled to participate in a high-level workshop at Coventry University in the United Kingdom on March 30-31, 2026. The workshop, organized by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to advance research-driven solutions for governance resilience and societal development.

Sulaiman Bala Idri, the governor's spokesperson, disclosed that the workshop will gather global scholars, policymakers, and government experts to explore methods for building resilient institutions to address societal challenges. The sessions will cover topics such as resilience leadership, financial resilience in the public sector, and the ethical use of data in governance.

Governor Sundai will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, including the Secretary of State for the Zamfara Government and special advisors. The engagement will also feature interactions with postgraduate research students on the role of research in policymaking, aligning with Zamfara State's six-point rescue agenda focused on security, peacebuilding, agriculture, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
