CDCFIB Promotes 27,624 Officers, Reopens Recruitment Portal

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 27,624 officers across its four paramilitary agencies and announced the reopening of a federal recruitment portal. Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd), Secretary to the Board, made the announcement on behalf of Board Chairman Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo after the Board's meeting.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps received the largest share of promotions, with 17,343 officers promoted. The Nigeria Correctional Service had 4,601 officers promoted, while the Federal Fire Service had 1,583 officers elevated.
The promotions aim to tackle career stagnation and improve service delivery. The recruitment portal for hiring 30,150 personnel will be open from October 28 to November 13, 2026.
Candidates who have progressed to the oral interview stage can check their status and must undergo a drug test at no cost. Letters of appointment will be issued only after certification from the NDLEA.
