CDS Olufemi Oluyede Declares War on Banditry in Nigeria

On a recent visit to the theatre command in North West Nigeria, Chief of Defence Staff Olufemi Oluyede declared an all-out war on banditry, instructing troops to intensify operations to eradicate criminal elements in the region. This directive is part of Operation Fansan Yamma, aimed at restoring peace and security.

Oluyede commended the resilience and sacrifices of the troops, urging them to remain disciplined and professional in their relentless fight against banditry. He assured the troops of continued support in terms of welfare, training, and necessary equipment to enhance operational effectiveness.

The visit also included a courtesy call to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, who expressed appreciation for the military's efforts and called for sustained collaboration, particularly in intelligence sharing. The Chief of Defence Staff acknowledged the critical role of air power in ongoing operations and noted efforts to strengthen operational capabilities and coordination across the theatre.
