General Oluyede Urges Troops to Enhance Security in Zamfara

On a maiden operational visit to troops in Zamfara State, General Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), addressed the ongoing fight against banditry. He highlighted the military's determination to eliminate criminal activities and restore safety in Nigeria, particularly in the northwest.

During his visit, he acknowledged the existing limitations of the Nigerian Air Force and called for enhanced air support for ground operations. General Oluyede commended the Zamfara State government for its continuous support, including the recent procurement of armored vehicles designed to resist ambushes and enhance operational effectiveness.

He stressed the importance of greater collaboration with local communities, particularly in intelligence gathering, to dismantle bandit networks. The CDS reiterated that credible information is critical for achieving success in restoring peace and coexistence in Nigeria.
