CDS Orders Troops to Intensify Operations Against Criminals

General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has directed troops to ensure Nigeria's safety by intensifying operations against bandits and criminal elements in the North West region. During his visit to the headquarters of the Joint Task Force in Gusau, Zamfara State, he emphasized that the safety of Nigeria remains a top priority.

General Oluyede assessed troop preparedness to address operational challenges and boost morale in their efforts to restore peace and security across the region. He commended the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the soldiers in defending the country and urged them to remain disciplined and resolute in their fight against banditry and terrorism.

He reiterated the military's commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal groups until peace is achieved throughout the North West and the country. Additionally, he acknowledged the critical role of air support in ongoing operations and noted steps taken to strengthen operational capacity through better coordination and resource allocation.

He also paid a courtesy call to Zamfara State Governor Mallam Dauda Lawal to thank him for his continued support.
