Military Leaders Visit Borno After Deadly Bomb Blasts

Waidi Shaibu landed in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Wednesday after a triple bomb blast on Monday that resulted in 23 fatalities and 108 injuries. The incident prompted President Bola Tinubu to direct service chiefs to relocate to the state in response to the attack.

In a statement, President Tinubu expressed condolences for the lives lost and commended the troops for repelling the coordinated assault. He characterized the attack as an act of terror, describing it as a desperate attempt by criminal terrorist elements to instill fear.

The President instructed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri and charged emergency agencies to provide proper care for the injured. Upon arrival, the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff received briefings from the Theatre Command of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai and other top military officials at the Maiduguri Air Force Base.
