Central African Republic Announces New Cabinet Under Touadéra

The Central African Republic has announced a new cabinet following the re-election of President Faustin-Archange Touadéra in December, where he secured nearly 78% of the vote according to official results. The new cabinet consists of 29 members, with Prime Minister Félix Moloua being reappointed and 10 new ministers joining the administration.

Despite this, the opposition, led by rival candidate Anicet-Georges Dologuélé, has rejected the election results, alleging widespread electoral fraud and accusing the president of concentrating power within state institutions. The announcement of the new cabinet came shortly after the parliament was opened earlier in the month, where 90 lawmakers were sworn in out of 144 parliamentary seats, leaving 54 seats pending due to a strike by poll workers over unpaid wages.
