PSLC Celebrates 20 Years with Advocacy for Disability Inclusion

The Patrick Speech Language Centre (PSLC), founded by Mr. Dotun Akand, is seeking partnerships to celebrate its 20th anniversary and to advance its mission of transforming disability inclusion in Nigeria.

The center has grown significantly since its establishment in 2006, providing support for thousands of children and families affected by autism through multidisciplinary therapy and early intervention services. PSLC plans to host two public events on April 26, 2026, at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos, which will include an exhibition titled "Legacy Unfiltered" showcasing artwork and a documentary titled "Unlock Autism." These events aim to mark the center's impact over two decades and will be free and open to the public.

The organization is launching new initiatives to focus on employing individuals with developmental differences and influencing policy to unlock underutilized talent in Nigeria. PSLC emphasizes the need for a shift from therapy-focused services to recognizing neurodiverse individuals as contributors to the workforce.
