Chamba Elders Urge Tinubu on Namdas' Appointment Delay

The Chamba Elders Council (CEC), representing the largest ethnic group in Adamawa State, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for urgent intervention regarding Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, who was appointed as the Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA). Six weeks after his appointment, Namdas has not received his appointment letter or resumed office, while others appointed simultaneously have begun their duties.

The vice chairman of CEC, Alh. Kashim Njidda, called for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, to expedite the release of Namdas’ appointment letter.

This appointment is historically significant for the Chamba nation, marking the first federal appointment since late Dominic Mapeo served as minister in the first republic. The elders praised Namdas for his public engagement skills and previous contributions, including his tenure as a two-term member of the House of Representatives and his role in the Niger Delta Development Commission.

They noted that Namdas' hometown, Ganye, is an APC stronghold with potential for significant electoral support in the 2027 elections.
