ADC Calls for Verification of Tinubu's Fitness for Office

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged the National Assembly to ascertain President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's fitness to continue in office, citing a leadership crisis at the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA). The ADC expressed alarm over reports that Tinubu has lost control of his administration, particularly regarding appointments and removals of public officials.

The party's national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that the situation has become a public secret, with allegations that Tinubu's appointments are being ignored without consequences. The ADC emphasized that this crisis reflects a disturbing pattern of governance, where decisions are reversed, leading to confusion and a loss of credibility.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar described the situation as disgraceful, urging Tinubu to focus on governance rather than his 2027 re-election bid. The ADC called for a clarification on the legal status of BCDA leadership to ensure future appointments comply with the law.
