Northern Christian Group Urges Tinubu for 2027 Campaign DG

A Northern Christian Progressive group has called on President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to appoint a Northern Christian as the director-general for the party's 2027 presidential campaign. The group's secretary, Rev.

Hayap Musa Danladi, made this appeal in a statement issued on Thursday. Danladi argued that appointing a Northern Christian would allow Christians in the region to show their loyalty and political support for Tinubu's administration.

He referenced the successful appointment of former Plateau State governor Simon Lalong, a Northern Christian, as the director-general during the 2023 presidential campaign, which he believes contributed significantly to the APC's success. Danladi stated that such an appointment would help address misconceptions of bias against the administration and promote mutual respect and national unity.

He also mentioned that Northern Christians are ready to mobilize support for Tinubu's re-election based on the administration's achievements and urged Nigerians to reject religious intolerance and ethnic divisions.
