Pensioners Challenge PTAD Over Check-off Dues Diversion

The Federal Parastatal Private Sector Pension Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN) has declared a confrontation against the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) due to allegations of the diversion of statutory check-off dues. FEPPPAN accuses PTAD of deliberately obstructing the union's operations by withholding and diverting funds that legally belong to the union.

They have called for urgent intervention from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Ministries of Justice and Labour to compel PTAD to comply with labor laws. FEPPPAN, represented by President Benjamin Amakko and General Secretary Franklin Erinl, emphasizes that they are a legally registered trade union with clear jurisdiction over pension matters.

The union claims that PTAD's actions are unlawful and have reached a breaking point, as they have presented documented evidence and legal opinions to support their claims. Despite numerous consultations with stakeholders, PTAD allegedly continues to employ delaying tactics and bureaucratic obstacles, further exacerbating the situation.
