Super Eagles Depart for Unity Cup in London

Seven home-based players have left Abuja for London to join the Super Eagles for the Unity Cup, scheduled to take place from May 26 to May 30. The team, under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, will travel via Morocco and is set to defend their title in this mini tournament.

Chelle unveiled a 27-man squad, which includes fresh call-ups of experienced players. The Super Eagles will begin their campaign on Tuesday against Zimbabwe's Warriors, with the winner facing either Jamaica or India.

However, a setback occurred as Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna, 18, was not released by his club AIK due to medical reasons related to his recovery from an injury. AIK stated their commitment to supporting Yohanna during this rehabilitation phase, despite his selection for the national team.
