Chelsea Pursues Emiliano Martinez Transfer from Villa

Chelsea is considering a transfer for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa after initiating contact with the 33-year-old Argentina international’s representatives. Martinez is deemed available for transfer following Aston Villa's recent acquisition of Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma for approximately £30 million.

This potential move could facilitate further business between the clubs, which have a history of transactions, including Aston Villa's record signing of forward Morgan Rogers for £117 million and the loan of Alejandro Garnacho. Additionally, striker Nicolas Jackson, valued at around £65 million, may join Villa to reunite with his former manager, Unai Emery.

Earlier in the transfer window, Juventus attempted to sign Martinez, but the deal fell through due to concerns over a finger injury, leading Juventus to sign Guglielmo Vicario instead. The interest in Martinez comes amid worries regarding Chelsea's current number one goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, whose performances have raised questions following a shaky start to the season.
