Chelsea Targets Alessandro Bastoni with €80 Million Bid

Chelsea is reportedly preparing an €80 million offer for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni as part of efforts by head coach Xabi Alonso to bolster a defense that has shown weaknesses at the start of the 2026/27 season. Bastoni, recognized as one of Serie A’s top defenders, has become a key player for both Inter Milan and the Italian national team.

His versatility as a left-sided centre-back and his ability to contribute to possession-based football make him an appealing target for Alonso. Chelsea had previously made a €50 million approach for Bastoni, which was rejected by Inter Milan.

The club is now considering a significantly higher bid, which aligns with Inter's valuation of around €80 million. Additionally, Barcelona has shown interest in Bastoni but may find it challenging to meet Inter's asking price.
