Mudryk Cleared to Play After CAS Upholds Appeal

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to return to competitive football immediately after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against a four-year doping ban. The 25-year-old Ukraine international had not played since November 2024 due to a provisional suspension by the Football Association (FA) following a positive test for the banned substance meldonium in October 2024 while on international duty.

Initially handed a maximum four-year suspension, Mudryk appealed to CAS, which ruled that he could return to action after accepting an anti-doping violation and agreeing to a suspension period equal to the time already served. CAS noted that the sample contained a low concentration of meldonium and highlighted changes in World Anti-Doping Agency guidance regarding the substance.

Chelsea FC welcomed the decision and expressed eagerness to help Mudryk regain full fitness, with the winger set to join their pre-season preparations.
