Vondrousova Appeals Four-Year Anti-Doping Ban to CAS

Marketa Vondrousova, a former Wimbledon champion, has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against a four-year ban imposed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). The ban results from her refusal to allow a doping control officer entry to her home for an out-of-competition test on December 3, 2025.

Vondrousova, 27, stated that she was at a "breaking point" due to physical and mental stress and feared for her safety when the officer arrived at 20:00. She signed a refusal form shortly after stepping outside to walk her dog.

However, a tribunal found that she provided "no compelling justification" for her refusal. Vondrousova, who has never tested positive for doping and has undergone numerous anti-doping controls, expressed her innocence in a statement following her ban.

Her suspension is scheduled to end on June 21, 2030, and she has not competed since January 2023, dropping to 153rd in the WTA rankings.
