Mudryk Cleared to Play for Chelsea After Doping Ban

Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to return to football following a doping ban. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against a four-year ban imposed by the Football Association (FA) after he returned an “adverse finding” for the banned substance meldonium.

Mudryk, 25, had been provisionally suspended since December 2024 and has not played a competitive match since November 2024. Although the FA initially imposed the maximum four-year ban, Mudryk appealed to CAS, which ruled that he could return to competition “with immediate effect.” He accepted responsibility for breaking anti-doping rules and agreed to a suspension equivalent to the time already served.

Chelsea expressed their eagerness to reintegrate Mudryk into the squad and help him regain full fitness as he prepares to join their pre-season tour.
