Chevron, NCDMB, Bristow Launch Cadet Pilot Training in Nigeria

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and Bristow Helicopters, has launched a Cadet Pilot Training Programme in Nigeria. The initiative aims to train 10 Nigerian cadet pilots, reflecting Chevron's commitment to enhancing local capacity in the oil and gas aviation sector.

Olusoga Oduselu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, stated that the program is the first of its kind in the industry. The training will consist of both technical and non-technical phases, with the non-technical phase commencing on June 15, 2026, while the technical phase will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The NCDMB's objectives align with developing globally competitive Nigerian professionals and strengthening the country's local content capacity. NCDMB officials encouraged trainees to uphold a strong safety culture and fully embrace the opportunities presented by the program, which emphasizes the importance of safety discipline in offshore aviation operations.
