China's EV Infrastructure Boosts Long-Distance Travel Ease

China's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure is undergoing significant transformation, alleviating long-distance travel concerns. The Fupe Service Area in Shaanxi Province has enhanced vehicle range by 400 kilometers in just 10 minutes, attributed to the increasing number of charging stations along major highways.

This development is part of a broader shift towards electric mobility, driven by improved battery performance and the rapid expansion of fast-charging infrastructure. Industry experts note that advancements in battery systems allow vehicles to charge significantly faster, with the average driving range for electric passenger vehicles in China rising nearly 500 kilometers over the past five years.

Charging speed has tripled during this period, with 21 million charging points established across full township levels in 19 provinces. Measures have been introduced to ensure smoother travel during peak periods, including mobile charging units in Shanghai.

The logistics sector is also benefiting from dedicated charging stations for heavy-duty trucks, reducing downtime for drivers and enhancing operational efficiency.
