City Boy Movement Defends Empowerment Program Turnout

Dr. Paddi Iyamu Mondai, the coordinator of the City Boy Movement, addressed allegations of low turnout at an empowerment program held in Edo State.

He clarified that 6,000 beneficiaries were invited to the event at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, which has a capacity of 14,000, to prevent overcrowding and potential stampedes, referencing a previous incident in Owerri, Imo State. The empowerment initiative aimed to support beneficiaries across the South-South region, with 2,000 participants drawn from 18 local government areas in Edo State.

Items distributed included deep freezers, sewing machines, buses, tricycles, laptops, hairdressing kits, and wheelchairs. Emmanuel Bawa expressed gratitude for the support, pledging to utilize the assistance to improve livelihoods.

Ayodel Olawand, the Minister of State for Youth Development, emphasized the program's goal to bridge leadership gaps for young Nigerians. The initiative is part of a broader tour led by Seyi Tinubu to mobilize and inspire youth across the region.
