Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Launches 10,000 Tree Project

On Monday, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senator representing Kogi Central, unveiled a project to plant 10,000 economic trees across communities in her district. This initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and combat the effects of climate change.

The project will involve planting species such as mango, guava, orange, moringa, and neem, which are valued for their environmental, nutritional, medicinal, and commercial benefits. Akpoti-Uduaghan described the tree planting exercise as a strategic investment in the future of Kogi Central, contributing to global climate action efforts.

She emphasized that each tree planted symbolizes hope and resilience, aiming to leave behind a healthier environment and a stronger economy for future generations. The project aligns with the objectives of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, encouraging grassroots participation and ensuring community ownership.

Akpoti-Uduaghan urged traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to engage in the initiative, which is designed to enhance biodiversity, improve livelihoods, and provide cleaner air.
