Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Secures CNG Stations for Kogi

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senator representing Kogi Central, has successfully engaged with the Presidential CNG Initiative to secure a commitment for the establishment of additional compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across Kogi State. This initiative comes in response to complaints from commercial tricycle operators regarding a CNG shortage that has disrupted transport activities and increased hardship for commuters.

The situation has led to long queues at existing CNG stations, resulting in lost productivity and reduced earnings for operators. Akpoti-Uduaghan discussed the matter with Ismaeel Ahmad, the Chairman of the Presidential CNG Initiative, who assured her that efforts are ongoing to bridge the supply gap and address the current scarcity.

The expansion of CNG infrastructure is deemed a priority due to Kogi's strategic location along major transport routes, which positions it as a key area for investment in gas distribution infrastructure. The federal government aims to promote the adoption of CNG as a cleaner and cheaper alternative to petrol.
