Abuja ABA League Launches with 500 Players Competing
The inaugural 2026 Abuja ABA League commenced over the weekend at the Mo Arena, Zone 5, Abuja, with over 500 players participating from 40 clubs, including 20 boys’ teams and 20 girls’ teams. The two-week competition, organized by the Amateur Basketball Academies, featured an entertaining opening day.
In the first female match, One Ball defeated Queens Court 14-6, while Suleja Bulldogs narrowly won against TNT Basketball Academy 24-22 in a thrilling encounter. DC Aliyu Lucky Abubakar, Founder and President of the Amateur Basketball Academies, declared the event open, emphasizing its significance in transforming Nigerian basketball and nurturing young talent.

The competition will include over 180 games at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Basketball Courts and Mo Arena.
