TNWSG Launches N100,000 Empowerment for Northern Traders

The Tinubu Northern Women Support Group (TNWSG) has initiated a N100,000 empowerment drive targeting 100,000 petty traders across Northern Nigeria. Announced in Abuja by Hon.

Aisha Aliyu Obalim, the program aims to strengthen grassroots commerce and support the economic reform agenda of President Bola Tinubu. This initiative will provide financial grants, not loans, to petty traders in the North Central, North East, and North West zones, covering 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The program is designed to enhance the viability of small-scale businesses run by women, recognizing petty trade as a critical economic engine for households in Northern Nigeria. The TNWSG's approach includes a structured monitoring framework to ensure that funds lead to tangible business growth, with beneficiaries organized into clusters of 50 traders each.

Obalim emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the program, which aims to empower women without political affiliations while contributing to the overall economic stability of the region.
