Nigerian Army Enhances Operations with Technology Focus

During the Combat Arm Training Week 2026 at Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's commitment to utilizing technology to improve operational effectiveness in the fight against terrorism and security threats across the country. He emphasized the importance of adopting modern technological solutions and intelligence-driven operations to enhance surveillance capabilities and military efficiency.

Shaibu highlighted the integration of drone warfare and advanced training methodologies as critical for future operations. The week-long program, which included live firepower demonstrations and showcased various weapons and armored vehicles, aimed to strengthen the Army's capacity for counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations.

Colonel Apollonia Anel, the acting director of Army Public Relations, noted that the event focused on building troop resilience in contemporary warfare. Major General Godwin Mutkut commended the Chief of Army Staff for significantly improving troop welfare and operational efficiency within the Nigerian Army.
