Nigerian Army Adapts to Tech-Driven Warfare Strategies

The Nigerian Army is repositioning itself for technology-driven warfare as articulated by Lieutenant General Waidi Shuibu during the first biannual Chief of Army Staff Conference held in Abuja, Nigeria. The conference addressed the nation's complex security challenges, including terrorism, insurgency, banditry, communal violence, crude oil theft, and infrastructure sabotage.

Lieutenant General Shuibu highlighted recent successful troop insert and extract operations conducted in the Timbuktu Triangle of the northeast theater. He emphasized that soldier welfare, healthcare, and accommodation are central to combat effectiveness.

Additionally, Major General Bamidel Alabi explained that the conference aims to review operational challenges, assess lessons learned, and develop realistic strategies for ongoing military operations across the country. The Nigerian Army is also expanding its personnel and operational infrastructure as part of the government's directive.

During the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Shuibu presented cheques to the families of fallen soldiers and personnel wounded in action, reaffirming the Army's commitment to supporting its troops.
