COAS Praises Troops for Offensive Against IPOB in South-east

During a special Sallah luncheon held in Orsu Local Government Area, Imo State, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), commended Nigerian troops for their ongoing offensive operations against the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in the South-east region. The event highlighted the troops' resilience and commitment to dismantling criminal elements in identified strongholds.

Colonel Appolonia Anel, the Director of Army Public Relations, noted the success of recent operations, which have effectively cleared entrenched hideouts and disrupted terrorist networks despite ongoing threats from improvised explosive devices. The COAS reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's professionalism and mission-oriented focus, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with sister security agencies and local communities to enhance intelligence-driven operations.

He also extended goodwill to wounded personnel receiving medical attention, assuring continued support for their welfare and recovery, and called on residents of the South-east to cooperate with security agencies to maintain peace in the region.
