Army Chief and IG of Police Stress Inter-Agency Coordination

On Wednesday, Lt. Gen.

Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, met with Olatunji Disu, the Inspector General of Police, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. During this meeting, Shaibu underscored the necessity for a unified approach among security agencies to effectively tackle Nigeria's evolving security challenges.

He called for strengthened collaboration and sustained inter-agency synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force to address prevailing internal security threats. The Inspector General of Police acknowledged the long-standing strategic partnership with the Army, noting that cooperation is vital for achieving national security objectives.

Disu expressed appreciation for the Army's support in training police personnel, which has significantly enhanced operational effectiveness across multiple theaters. He assured that the Army would continue to share intelligence and coordinate operations to reinforce joint efforts in ongoing security operations.

Shaibu reaffirmed the Army's commitment to deepening joint command philosophies and acknowledged the support provided to police forces in Kogi, Kwara, and Niger states in operations against banditry and kidnapping.
