IG Disu Urges Security Agencies to Enhance Collaboration

During a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) headquarters in Abuja, Inspector General Olatunji Disu called for strengthened intelligence sharing among security agencies as part of efforts to address Nigeria's evolving security challenges. The visit, described as the first of its kind, aimed to reinforce collaboration between the Nigeria Police and NSCDC in safeguarding lives and properties.

Disu highlighted the critical mandates of both agencies to provide national security and encouraged unified operations to effectively combat crime and insecurity nationwide. He stressed the importance of closer synergy and alignment of operational strategies to enhance effectiveness in confronting contemporary security challenges.

NSCDC spokesman Afolabi Babawal noted the agency's commitment to inter-agency cooperation and its long-standing relationship with the police, while urging citizens to play a proactive role in security by volunteering information to authorities. This call for collaboration comes amid persistent security challenges across Nigeria, where poor coordination has limited intelligence sharing among agencies.
