Nigerian Army Aviation Expansion to Combat Security Threats

On Thursday, during a strategic visit to the Ministry of Defence, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu announced a major expansion of the Nigerian Army Aviation Wing. This initiative is aimed at addressing Nigeria's increasing security threats and is described as a strategic game changer in military operations against terrorism and emerging security challenges.

The expansion will enhance air capabilities, integrating advanced aviation platforms and unmanned aerial systems to improve operational response times and intelligence gathering. Lieutenant General Shaibu emphasized the need for a robust logistical framework and consistent resource flow to realize the full operational potential of the Army Aviation.

He noted the importance of infrastructure development in response to the increased personnel strength, with thousands of recruits currently undergoing training. Mr.
