Commercial Driver Dies in Lagos Multi-Vehicle Crash

A tragic incident occurred on the Lagos-Apapa Expressway where a commercial driver lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision. According to Adebayo Taofiq, spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident involved a commercial minibus and a Toyota Tundra.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the commercial minibus sustained grievous injuries and died instantly due to the devastating impact of the collision. LASTMA officials were on routine traffic monitoring duty and swiftly mobilized to the scene to coordinate emergency response efforts and manage traffic flow, preventing further obstruction along the heavily trafficked route.

The deceased's body was handed over to his family at the scene, and the wreckage was removed from the road. The Nigeria Police Force is conducting an exhaustive investigation to determine the cause of the crash and facilitate any necessary legal proceedings.

LASTMA's General Manager, Olalekan Bakar, expressed condolences to the deceased's family and urged motorists, particularly those in commercial transport, to exercise heightened caution and adhere to traffic regulations.
