Lagos Driver Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Expressway

A tragic accident occurred on Cele Expressway in Lagos, resulting in the death of a commercial driver. The incident involved a commercial mini bus and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck with registration number EP 554 YC.

Preliminary investigations conducted by security personnel at the scene revealed that the driver of the commercial mini bus sustained grievous injuries and died instantly due to the impact of the collision. Mr.

Taofiq Adebayo, the Director of Public Affairs for LASTMA, confirmed the accident and noted that LASTMA personnel were on routine traffic monitoring duties and swiftly coordinated emergency response efforts to manage traffic flow and prevent further obstruction along the heavily trafficked route. The deceased driver was later recovered and released to family members residing locally.

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced an investigation to determine the remote cause of the crash and facilitate necessary legal proceedings. Mr.

Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, expressed condolences to the bereaved family and urged motorists, particularly commercial transport operators, to exercise heightened caution on the roads.
