National Boundary Commission Advocates Peaceful Edo-Kogi Resolution

The National Boundary Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the boundary dispute between Edo and Kogi states. This commitment was highlighted during a joint meeting held at the Luci Hall Bon Hotel in Wuse II, Abuja, which included representatives from the affected states and federal technical agencies.

The meeting was presided over by Adamu Adaji, the Director General of the Commission. Denni Idahosa, the Chairman of the Edo State Boundary Committee and Deputy Governor, emphasized the state's unwavering commitment to a technically sound and lawful demarcation of the boundary.

The mutual agreement on boundary alignment, endorsed in 2006, was noted as a critical milestone providing a solid legal and technical foundation for concluding the exercise. Idahosa called for the urgent resumption of efforts to address factors that previously hindered completion.

The meeting acknowledged Edo State's constructive engagement with federal authorities to advance the resolution process.
