Bandawair Rejects APC Consensus, Advocates Direct Primaries

Hon. Kabiru Bello Bandawair, an aspirant for the Taraba North Senatorial District seat, publicly rejected the consensus arrangements suggested by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a press conference in Jalingo.

He emphasized the importance of direct and transparent primaries, arguing that the consensus option undermines democratic principles and does not represent the people's interests. Bandawair cautioned Governor Agbu Kefa against meddling in the party's internal processes, asserting that democracy thrives when party members can freely choose their candidates.

He challenged the governor to test the consensus arrangement by asking the incumbent senator to step down and see if the northern district would agree to a consensus choice. Bandawair also criticized the financial burden of the party's primary process, stating that the party should fund its activities rather than relying on state government resources.
