ADC Expels Nafiu Bala and Nine Others Amid Leadership Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of David Mark, expelled Nafiu Bala, the faction chairman, along with Leke Abejide and eight other members for alleged anti-party activities during the party's convention held in Abuja on Tuesday. The convention, themed "So Nigeria May Work," attracted 3,000 participants.

The expelled members included Kingsley Temitope Noman, Obinna Kennedi Odion, and Stella Chukwuma, among others. The motion for expulsion was moved by Bino Yaro, representing Adamawa South Senatorial District, and seconded by Abdussamad Dasuki, a member representing Kebbi Tambuwal Federal Constituency.

This action is part of the ADC's efforts to comply with a court directive to maintain the status quo amid ongoing leadership crises that have plagued the party since the tenure of former chairman Ralph Nwosu ended in August 2022. The ADC is preparing for the 2025 elections, and David Mark has called for unity within the party.
