Experts Push for QR Code Adoption at NIBSS Meeting

On a recent visit to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) in Lagos, corporate communication experts from the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB), led by President Jide Sipe, advocated for the wider adoption of QR Code payments and the strengthening of payment systems. The meeting aimed to address industry concerns regarding the need for improved communication during service disruptions.

Sipe emphasized the importance of engaging stakeholders across the sector, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), to foster collaboration and share ideas. Premier Oiwoh, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NIBSS, highlighted the organization's commitment to financial inclusion and the development of a reliable digital payment infrastructure.

He noted that NIBSS has been pivotal in enhancing transaction efficiency and enabling secure real-time payments, which are crucial for economic growth in Nigeria and Africa.
