NIDCOM and NIMC Collaborate on Digital Infrastructure

The Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), led by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has partnered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), represented by Engr.

Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to improve digital infrastructure for national identity management and payment systems. This collaboration aims to strengthen the digital ecosystem, particularly for the Nigerian diaspora, by ensuring seamless data exchange and integration of digital identity services.

A press statement released on Friday in Abuja highlighted the strategic meeting between top-level management of both organizations. The partnership is expected to facilitate the onboarding of stakeholders across various ministries and agencies to meet reform expectations.

The NIMC's new act, signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is anticipated to significantly advance Nigeria's digital transformation. The NIMC has the largest database of identities in Africa, and the partnership will enhance access to public digital infrastructure and improve the registration of Nigerians abroad.
