Prof. Lere Baal Advocates for Stronger Corporate Culture

Prof. Lere Baal, Chief Executive Officer at Business School Netherlands, presented a case for Nigerian organizations to develop a corporate culture centered around five pillars: responsibility, respect, reliability, relationships, and competitiveness.

He highlighted that these elements are crucial for building a world-class corporate culture in Nigeria. Baal, with 40 years of experience across various sectors, will address these themes at the World Stage Business Forum in Q2 2026, coinciding with the release of the Nigeria Economic Report for Q1 2026 on June 30, 2026.

He criticized the current state of corporate culture in Nigeria, referring to it as "corporate terror," where large organizations often disregard basic courtesies in their dealings with the public and small businesses. Baal stressed that trust is a currency for sustainable business, and organizations must prioritize human interactions over technology to foster better relationships with customers and employees.
