Corpse Found Near Iran World Cup Training Base in Tijuana

On Friday, a corpse was found in the trunk of a Toyota SUV with California plates parked in a supermarket lot directly across from Caliente Stadium in Tijuana, Mexico, where Iran's national football team is training for the World Cup. The body, wrapped in a black bag, exhibited signs of violence and was discovered by a patrol unit upon inspecting the vehicle, which is believed to have been abandoned.

The discovery occurred as temperatures in the city reached 28 degrees Celsius (82 degrees Fahrenheit). The Iranian national team, participating in the FIFA World Cup, is currently training in Mexico due to ongoing hostilities in the United States.

Their arrival was marked by heavy security, including armed soldiers escorting the team to their hotel and the stadium. Following the body’s removal, there was no immediate response to inquiries regarding the team's security arrangements.
