Court Adjourns Abubakar Malami's Terrorism Trial to April

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the terrorism financing trial of former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, to April 15. His son, Abdulaziz Malami, was arraigned on February 3 by the Department of State Services (DSS) on five counts, which include allegations of terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.

The court had previously granted bail to Abdulaziz Malami, who was required to present two sureties. During the proceedings, presiding judge Joyce Abdulmalik heard from prosecutor Akinlolu Kehind, who requested additional time to consult before the trial begins.

Defense counsel Shuaibu Arua did not oppose the request for an adjournment, and the court granted the application, setting the new trial dates for April 15 and 16.
