Court Adjourns Nasir El-Rufai's Bail Hearing to Wednesday

The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has adjourned the bail hearing for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai until Wednesday. The hearing was initially scheduled for March 31, where arguments from both the defense and prosecution were to be presented.

El-Rufai has been arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) on 10 counts related to corruption and money laundering, specifically concerning the alleged conversion and possession of public property. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.

El-Rufai arrived at the court premises at 9:40 AM, accompanied by ICPC officials, with security heightened across Kaduna metropolis, including the deployment of police and DSS personnel. Access to the court premises was restricted, and accredited journalists were allowed entry, although the court proceedings were covered.

The case was adjourned after the session, with the next hearing set for tomorrow.
