Court to Rule on Zamfara APC Primaries Suit August 31

The Federal High Court in Gusau has scheduled a judgment date for August 31, 2026, in a legal case initiated by Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Senator Sahabi Ya’u. This case challenges the legality of the primary elections conducted for the APC in the Zamfara North Senatorial District.

During a court session on Friday, presiding Judge Justice Hassan Dikko reviewed the final written addresses submitted by both the plaintiff, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, who is an APC senatorial aspirant, and the defendants. Following this review, the judge set the date for the judgment, which will determine the outcome of the legal challenge regarding the contested primary election results.
