Court Adjourns Shinkafi's APC Primaries Case to July 2026

The Federal High Court in Gusau has scheduled the adoption of final written addresses in the case concerning the Zamfara APC primaries for July 28, 2026. This case was initiated by Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a senatorial aspirant, who alleged irregularities during the APC primary election in Zamfara North.

During the preliminary hearing on Tuesday, counsel for the plaintiff, Barrister Bello Galadi, informed the court that four applications were pending, of which three were granted. These applications included a request for an extension of time to respond to a counter affidavit filed by the second defendant, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and an extension to reply against preliminary hearing filed by the third respondent, Senator Sahabi Ya’u.

The presiding judge, Justice Hassan Dikko, granted these applications before adjourning the case.
