Court Grants N200M Bail to Malami's Son in Terror Case

On Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail of N200 million to Abdulaziz Malami, son of former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, in a case involving terrorism financing and unlawful possession of firearms. Justice Joyc Abdulmalik ruled on the separate bail application, emphasizing that bail is essential to ensure the defendant attends trial.

The court ordered that two sureties, who must own developed land in Maitama or Asokoro, deposit title deeds and affidavits, along with two recent passport photographs. Abdulaziz Malami is facing five counts related to terrorism financing and unlawful possession of a Sturm Magnum 17 firearm, among other charges.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges during the last court session. The matter has been adjourned until March 4, pending the fulfillment of bail conditions, while the prosecution, represented by J.B.

Daudu, is preparing for trial.
