NDLEA Secures Interim Forfeiture of 17 Drug Containers

On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt issued an interim forfeiture order for 17 containers loaded with illicit drugs, valued at N33.6 billion. The order was granted following an ex parte application filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), under suit number FHC/PH/MISC/25/2026.

The containers, intercepted at the Port Harcourt port complex between April and September 2025, were found to contain millions of pills of tramadol, tafrodol, tapentadol, carisoprodol, and 2.4 million bottles of codeine syrup. Justice Adamu Moha ruled that the interim forfeiture was necessary to protect the contents for the federal government of Nigeria pending the final determination of the suit.
